Giovani Zanolino

Giovani Zanolino was born on June 7, 1986 in Perigueux, France. As a baby, he moved to his mother's birthplace, the tropical island of Curaçao, which became his home.
Although the art scene in Curaçao was much smaller than that of Europe and America, he felt compelled to contribute to the art and culture of the island where he grew up.

Giovani is known for his work with a variety of materials and techniques. In the middle of his career, having primarily worked with traditional techniques such as pen and ink, painting, collage, mixed media, sculpture, and photography, he began to express himself more through digital media such as Photoshop and animation. His artworks are colorful, multicultural, and encompass a wide range of subjects. Initially, this was not appreciated within a largely folkloric, conservative, and stagnant art market, but as Curaçao developed, his art was increasingly welcomed and valued. As a result, Giovani became one of the driving forces behind a new generation of artists in Curaçao.
