Vincent Lives | Giovani Zanolino

Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter known for his emotionally evocative use of bold colors and dramatic brushwork, though he achieved little recognition during his lifetime, selling only one painting. I n a brief but prolific career spanning just a decade, he created over 2,000 works, including iconic pieces like Starry Night and paintings of sunflowers, which heavily influenced the Expressionism movement. Van Gogh's emotional intensity and mental health struggles, which i ncluded self-mutilation and hospitalizations, are often seen as connected t o his work and life. After his death in 1890, his legacy grew, and by the late 20th century, his works were selling for millions, establishing him as one of the most f amous painters in history. His support system, particularly his brother Theo and Theo's wife Johanna, helped his art gain posthumous recognition.
